
Short Term Weight Loss
There are a lot of programes out there that promise
weight loss and some of them may work but only in the
short term. For long term weight loss there needs to be
more than a 7 day detox or silly diet to follow that
causes a large water loss.
Yes when the body loses water there will be a
significant amount of weight lost but it isn't fat which
is the main culprit that causes a person to become
overweight. From juicing to detoxification there are
loads of short term weight loss programmes out there
which may work for a special occasion yes but not long
term weight loss.
There are even beauty formulas such as the Universal
Body Contour Wrap which can cause a weight loss of up to
6 pounds all over the body but the fix is short term
because it is mainly water that has been
lost.
There are also the silly and dangerous high protein
diets or as it's better known The Zone Diet which can
cause a significant amount of weight loss because the
body is starved of water. The side effects of this diet
programme can cause bad breath, diarrhoea, sickness and
even heart failure if taken to the
extreme.
The body needs carbohydrates to live, they are
essential. They provide energy and totally stripping them
out of the diet is dangerous to the body. Why would
someone want to do that to the wonderful human body that
always looks after us in times of
stress?
The Zone Diet is just one of the many fad diets out
there. There is the apple diet where only apples are
eaten during the day and one can only think that that may
cause extreme hunger. Yes apples are full of fibre and
are filling but after a while of eating apples one may
only feel nauseas towards them.
There is also the cabbage soup diet which is
extremely low in calories and causes a fast weight loss,
once again through the water loss and hardly any calories
taken in through the body. These forms of short term
weight loss are okay for a few days but any longer and
they can be detrimental to the overall health of the
body.
There are also detoxification pills that can be taken
that promise a significant amount of weight loss but the
user may find that the weight will return as soon as food
is eaten or any liquid is absorbed in the body because it
was only water loss that caused the actual drop in
weight.
There are probably other weird and dangerous short
term diets available which promise results but never long
term weight loss benefits. For the short term or to fit
into a dress or suit a couple of sizes smaller than
normal at the weekend then short term weight loss
programmes or supplements can help but in the long term
they are not safe.
